I try to learn quickly how my students learn best and then work with that to help them learn the material. With that I am more prepared to work with them and help set realistic goals for each lesson. I hope that through lessons I help them develop a passion for music as well as playing their instrument. I am always asking the student how they feel about the songs they play, what they want to learn, and making sure they are grasping the material so that I can encourage further learning with my students. As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music. If my students do not leave every lesson feeling inspired, encouraged, and wanting to practice and play music, then I am not doing my job. Just as I tailor each lesson to match the individual student, expect the student to grow and develop as a musician at his/her own pace. Teaching music is my life's passion. I followed that passion to earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Evansville in 2011. Since then I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. Since earning my degree I have performed on stages across the country in pit orchestras, bands, choirs, opera performances and as a solo artist on various instruments including the voice.
