Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginning students, we begin with learning how to read music and go over the basic fundamentals of playing the instrument. Then, we will go through the Rubank Elementary Methods books while including scales and practice techniques. We will also take time to listen to other instrumentalists and discover what concept of sound is best for you. My main groups include Tge Chicago Cosmopolitan Orchestra (Principal 2nd, piccolo, and assistant Principal Flute) The Wabash Winds, and The Riojas Duo (Flute and Percussion.) I also actively do other chamber music, and work at Music and Arts. Although I am not limited to one method book or another, I typically use Arban's for trumpet lessons - with other books and repertoire along with it. My background is Suzuki violin, followed by music literacy and transposition.
