There will be supplemental materials, especially for more advanced students, that are instrument specific such as etudes and technical exercises. We will continue focusing on band literature, contemporary, classical, or solo literature depending on the goals of the students and their interests. As they love what they are doing and how well they are succeeding, student often develop a wanting to put more and more work into their playing. I typically structure my lessons based on each individual student and their level of commitment. Some of my students want to go to college for music performance, and others just want to sound better in their school's band. I take that into account when choosing particular warmups and repertoire.
