Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I started teaching just after graduating college in 1978. Although I took some breaks to pursue other musical endeavors I always returned to teaching whenever possible. i always encourage students to find an area of music that they love and find out as much as they can about it.
