I studied percussion under Dr. Koontz at Eastern Kentucky University, where I learned to play all sorts of different styles ranging from classical to global. I'm passionate about encouraging students to be self-motivated in their pursuit of music. In 2013 I graduated from The Florida State University with my Masters in Music Composition and Theory. Training in several disciplines help to identify and cater my teaching style to the needs of the student. I don't use a "cookie cutter" approach to teaching. Read More

The rewards I give are always musical and I usually let the student choose. For example, one of the rewards for consistent practice, learning songs, and listening to recordings is the opportunity to write a parody song. We listen to a few examples and analyze what makes them work. Read More
