I do not use one specific method of teaching since I have never found a single method that meets the needs of every student. Every student learns differently and needs their own personal curriculum and method. Once I have identified the specific learning characteristics of a student, I plan their personal lessons accordingly and choose an appropriate book or written method to use with them. I have been studying and playing music since I was 7. I began on saxophone in my school's concert band and jazz band proceded by my own musical endeavors on electric bass playing rock and jazz music. I spent high school gigging Philadelphia with The Paisley Haze Quintet. In my undergrad studies at University of Vermont, I picked up the upright bass, studying both jazz and classical styles. I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy.
