While I taught before graduate school, most of my teaching experience comes from the graduate assistant ship I held while studying. I taught undergraduate students with guitar as their primary instrument and also oversaw several classical guitar esembles. Outside of the assistantship I have taught a wide range of ages, from young children to middle-aged adults. My methods are originated from the classical style of "no pick" and proper posture to various rock methods on electric to finger style accoustic. I would start my lesson with an in depth description of the guitar itself and how to tune and then enter the notes and with foot tapping rhythms. I love to get to know my students and use different books, songs, techniques, to really reach their level and motivation.
