I am interested in helping others experience the joy of making music. I began playing trumpet at age 11 and went on to play and teach professionally. I reached much success in high school when I was awarded the first chair in the Alabama All-State Band. I then went on to study to be both a performer and educator in college. With guitar or singing, I will always teach the music theory behind what we are doing, but to be honest I'm more of a "Feel" guy. Meaning I'm not super technical. I live for the "AHA!" moments from my students. There comes a point in every students musical journey where it all snaps together like a puzzle and a new piece of the picture can be seen. "AHA" moments are big deals, and we celebrate them together. Once a student has completed one skill, technique, scale, etc... we move ahead at his or her own pace.
