The beginning of my more formal teaching started in High School when a friend and I began a Guitar Club as an after-school program for all levels of guitarists to join. It was a mentoring, preforming, and learning group where we practiced covers of songs and traded technique. As a senior at the University of Tennessee, I've begun informally teaching friends with a passion to learn guitar. I volunteered there for 5 years and fell in love with imparting young people with a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. I started my professional music career in 1983 when I joined an all-girls band. After 3 years traveling and recording with the band I struck out on my own and did a one woman show for 17 years. In 1993 I moved to Branson, MO and performed in my own show on the Lake Queen Riverboat for five years.
