I started my professional music career in 1983 when I joined an all-girls band. After 3 years traveling and recording with the band I struck out on my own and did a one woman show for 17 years. In 1993 I moved to Branson, MO and performed in my own show on the Lake Queen Riverboat for five years. For beginner guitar students I use Mel Bays You Can Teach Yourself guitar . I emphasize chords and technique and playing melodies. For piano students I teach students first to listen and immitate and then read. Once they master some basics in reading music I introduce chords. My vocal students start each lesson with warmups and apply the techniques to the songs that they are learning. I graduated from Welch College, in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor's of Music Education in 2013. I was immediately hired as an elementary music specialist for Metro Nashville Public Schools.
