My musical journey started at the age of 8. I took classical piano lessons for about 5 to 6 years and during that time, I learned about the fundamentals and building blocks of music theory as well as how to read, sight-read, and transpose music. My love for music though began when I picked up the guitar at age 13. I had always naturally gravitated towards the guitar because of its portability (compared to the piano) as well as the full sound it was able to yield despite being a smaller instrument coupled with the fact that there are some many interesting styles and ways to play it. Hello! My name is pronounced as if you saw the "dawn" in the morning and became so happy you said "yay!" (dawn-yay). I especially enjoy teaching music theory, composition, improvisation and transcription (playing by ear). I come from a family of musicians and started taking lessons at an early age. I have been a very active performing drummer for the past 20 years. I recorded three albums that were released worldwide with my band Scelerata. I did five Brazilian tours (50+ shows) as Paul DiAnno’s (former Iron Maiden’s lead singer) official drummer, from 2009 to 2014. In the summer of 2017, I recorded Rage In My Eyes’ first album in Los Angeles. In March 2018, I performed with America’s Got Talent winner Bianca Ryan. Read More
