In 2014, I received my Bachelor of Music degree Magna Cum Laude in the Music Composition Option from CSU Northridge, which included a Creative Writing Minor; prior to this, a movie theme I had co-written with film composer John Barry was selected to be the title track of the motion picture Ruby Cairo, starring Andie MacDowell, Liam Neeson, and Viggo Mortensen. I began teaching privately about ten years ago. This occurred rather organically by having conversations with people in which they expressed interest in either learning a new instrument, or expanding on their preexisting skills. Though I do have a formal music education, I did start off self-taught, learning songs from my favorite bands and artists. Because of this, I use a combination of assigned songs and songs requested by the student to help build and conceptually realize their facility on their instrument, as well as basic scale and chord theory. I picked up my first guitar at the age of 13, and I've been addicted to it ever since. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 with a degree in Professional Music. I currently play guitar for international-touring Video Game Metal band Powerglove, as well as national-touring Progressive Metal band Lattermath.
