Growing up, I would imitate voices from diffrent cultures from cuban music, mexican and other spanish styles. Maya studied upright bass performance at Berklee College of Music, where she earned a Berklee Merit Scholarship and the Bass Department Outstanding Performer Award and Scholarship. She played with the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, with a highlight performance of Lord of the Rings Symphony at Bostons Symphony Hall. She tours nationally with Boston-based bummer pop band Future Teens. The group has been featured on NPRs All Songs Considered and in The Boston Globe, and was awarded Boston Music Awards Alt/Indie Artist of the Year 2019. Read More

I have been playing cello for 20 or so years. I have studied at CSUN classical cello performance. I have been teaching for about 10 years. I have brought many students from complete beginners all the way up to concierto level playing. I have played for and with many very successful bands over the years including Chelsea Wolfe, No Age, Saint Motel, Tes Elations. I have been teaching guitar and drums since August of 2012. I started by teaching my friend's kids on the drums, ages 5 and 10. I also gave guitar lessons to adults of different ages, ranging from 20s to 80s. This includes a position as a Recreation Instructor for the City of Los Angeles.
