Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Saxophone, Clarinet, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Recorder, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Djembe, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar
Different methods for different needs is how I help each person learn for maximum enjoyment and success. I include stretching, finger exercises, focusing tools, and relaxation techniques. Music pieces and techniques may include portions of method books, classical pieces, popular songs, and self-written songs. I teach beginners to read music (even if they cannot read words yet) and to play creatively, by ear (even if they can already read music.) But most importantly, I help students learn to play music for FUN. "Practicing" is called "Playing at Home," and I encourage finding non-stressful ways of sharing one's love of music with others. Depending on the instrument and skill levels of the student I have different methods. For guitarists I typically like to start by learning techniques and building strength in their fingers before we move into theoretical concepts. For pianists I begin with technique but with also teaching them the musical staff and getting them started with reading music. Ultimately my method depends on the individual needs of the student. The lesson is always aimed at having the most fun as possible, all while learning and expanding our musical knowledge. Read More

I am somewhat lenient with my teaching style. I always give every student work to practice and improve upon for their next lesson. I always want my students to be inspired and productive, and I also believe that a student should never feel forced into practicing their craft. Read More

My teaching experience goes all the way back to when I was in high school. I was teaching my peers outside of school, giving them lessons, helping them with music theory, etc., and I have helped more than one of them go on to music school with me. Ive been teaching guitar lessons on their own for 10 years, starting by teaching beginners and working my way up to more advanced teaching about 5 years ago. Read More

For my beginning students who are children, I like to start with Alfred's Music books based on the instrument they choose. They are specific, yet easy for kids to follow along with, and encourage practicing by making each song fun. For adults, we journey into what the student is interested in or inspired by, and then I guide my instruction accordingly to keep our lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
