Passionate about sharing my love of the guitar with students of all ages, I’ve been teaching for more than 30 years. A trained Flamenco guitarist, I found, at the tender age of 7, my passion when I heard the world-renowned Flamenco guitarist Sabicas. Studying Flamenco since then, I began, during my teens, performing professionally and have had the honor of performing with such nationally known musicians as Billy Bang (legendary fiddle player), Willy Calhoun (Living Colour), Vassar Clements Band, Tom Chapin, Stanley Jordan, Buddy Miles, and Michael Powers. I have been teaching private voice for five years, and I specialize in a multitude of styles, including musical theatre, legit, and pop/rock. Additionally, I have worked as a teaching assistant for Acting Through Song class at Shenandoah Conservatory, and I recently music directed a production of REEFER MADNESS. My passion for teaching begins with the students’ need for artistry. I have always loved to teach. I began teaching in elementary school in 6th grade, where I would help in kindergarten classroom as a mentor program. In the 10th grade I would often visit my 9th grade science teacher and help her with her class. At 17 I taught a couple adults to read. My journey in music began at the young age of 3, singing along with the sounds of live guitar and Classic Rock tunes on the radio in my home.
