I have been teaching since 2017. I started off with private lessons in St. Augustine, FL, then proceeded to join the Community School of Music at Stetson University as a Student Teacher in 2017. After graduating from Stetson in 2019, I stayed and taught as a Faculty Teacher at the Community School of Music, having more students. During my tenure, I taught students from four to 85 years old. For beginning students, especially young children, I always use the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements Books 1-3. After some time, when the student has more of a grasp on the fundamentals and reading music, then I will bring in some basic solo repertoire and music of their choice (Disney, Star Wars, etc.) to inspire them to continue and feel motivated to learn. I am a diverse musician of stringed instruments, specializing in electric and acoustic guitar, violin/fiddle, and mandolin. My genres range from Classical music, classic rock, to Bluegrass, Country, and Blues. On the guitar, I play and teach both flatpick and fingerpicking styles. In classic rock, I teach such recording artists as the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton (Cream), and Neil Young. On the Rolling Stones songs, I teach both standard tuning songs (Ruby Tuesday, Dead Flowers, etc), and open Tunings used by Keith Richards (Brown Sugar-G, Gimme Shelter-E) On the violin/fiddle, and mandolin, I teach, nice baroque pieces like Minuet # 3 in G Mjor (Bach/petzold), Rights of Man (E minor) and later 19th century (Off to California aka Passage in G Major), as well as later classical pieces like Beethoven's 9th Symphony (Ode to Joy).
