My lessons will typically begin with a series of questions. Basically, what is the goal of the student. Whether it is to just relax at home after work, or school or perform solo piano at a coffee shop, or learn songs off of the internet or a method book of their preference, I encourage students to be patient, diligent and to never ever skip a day of practice. The most important first step is to have a conversation about what the student's goals are. Together we can come up with a game plan to achieve these goals! For beginning students, we will start by working through a beginner's method book, but I will supplement with my own materials. My first priority is to get the student playing music that they enjoy as early as possible! I have been involved in music my entire life, starting in a percussion group and choir in elementary school. I started on the clarinet at the beginning of middle school. I taught myself how to play the clarinet amongst the other instruments I play with the help and guidance of college professors, band directors, and tricks I noticed along the way. I have been selected and performed in multiple honor bands across my time in middle and high school, including Troy University's honor band and All State. Read More

I'm a very passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have been raised up all around music. In my school years, I participated in band where I learned the technical aspects of music such as reading and writing notation. After graduation, performing in various bands across the United States has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to tour both Houston, Texas with the group Members Only and The Carter McKay Band, as well as busking in Nashville and performing in various groups there, all the way back to Birmingham, AL where I have played with several bands and have started my own self titled brand. I am passionate about music and I play at least 7 instruments. I love alot of international music styles as well as American styles (soft rock, rock, hard rock, progressive metal, hip hop reggae, etc.). My music degree is from Auburn University Montgomery and I have done live performances within a band, ensemble, and on my own.
