I continue my training on all my instruments and I am considering becoming a music professor at a university eventually and possibly. I have a history with several students from ages 4-28. I have been involved in music my entire life, starting in a percussion group and choir in elementary school. I started on the clarinet at the beginning of middle school. I taught myself how to play the clarinet amongst the other instruments I play with the help and guidance of college professors, band directors, and tricks I noticed along the way. I feel that it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals and assignments for my students at each lesson. This measurable progression of accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Of course finding out the students problem areas is also paramount to helping them progress at the fastest rate possible.
