For beginners, I have a multitude of etudes, simple songs, and exercises to encourage sight-reading, finger comfortability, and basic cognitive understanding of music fundamentals such as scales. For guitar, I usually begin with fun simple songs such as "What do we do with the Drunken Sailor" and a simple blues. I always enjoy seeing my students develop a passion for music! I don't use a standard book system since my lessons are geared around the individual students musical taste. I set realistic goals and always make sure I am not overwhelming the student with work or information. Currently, I work as a piano accompanist and lesson instructor at a K-8 music school. This occupation allows me to work with a wide variety of students with different interests and ability levels. It has been extremely rewarding to help these students grow and appreciate music in deeper ways. Throughout high school and college I would also teach multiple students with different instruments.
