Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For all students, there will be a focus on the fundamentals at the start. For intermediate to advanced players this is a period to both evaluate strengths/weaknesses and to establish expectations for the teacher-student partnership. For beginners this is the necessary first step on their journey as musicians. As a teacher in the classroom, I focus on experiential methods such as giving students access to a variety of instruments in order to find where a student's preferences are, and what their natural talents are. I like to group students together and see how they can work together to accomplish a musical goal, such as performing a 30 second group composition. As a teacher of private students who hope to learn a specific instrument, or a specific set of pieces, I focus a lot on understanding the student as a person and as a musician. Read More

I'm a dedicated musician and educator who loves performing a variety of music both as a chamber musician and soloist. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2020 with a Master's of Music and hold a Bachelor's of Music from Boston University. I've performed internationally as a member of multiple ensembles and as a soloist and am a strong advocate for the use of saxophone in a variety of settings as well as the expansion of contemporary music. To begin, I will start with chords and scales to get a student used to understanding of notes and progressions. Next, I would go over theory and technique in order to blossom a stylistic way of playing for the student. Next, I would start with simple etudes and pieces for each student to learn and master. I love when I get to see my students fall in love with music and have great passion for it. I take an individualized approach to each student, and I also set realistic goals so they can meet them. I want to make sure students improve, while not getting frustrated or bored.
