Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I design my own curriculum for all of my voice students, which usually comprises of basic piano and theory skills and vocal technique. Dependent upon the students interest level and personal goals, I determine the extent of the materials and the pace of the lessons. Since I only teach beginner piano for children and teens, I usually stick to the basic beginner books (i.e. Hal Leonard or John Thompson) and slowly Incorporate solo repertoire. Read More

I like to start out with the Hannon Book. That has various excercises that helps with note recognition. Worksheets will be given out with those as well. Teaching students HOW to read notes, and HOW to recognize them takes a few weeks so that's normally what i like to start with. Once they grasp those fundimentals, then we move on to learning songs they are familiar with such as London Bridge, This Old Man, Mary Had A Little Lamb etc. Read More

I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. My musical background consist on teaching students more than playing piano, but educating them on music. It is important to give the students the opportunity to be great at what they like doing. I would advise my students to practice every single day for at least one to two hours and also I would prepare a recital piece for them to see how well theyve learned.
