I've been lucky enough to perform all over the U.S. and a lot of Europe by touring with different bands in high school, college, and independent touring groups. From beginners to experts, foundational work is key to progressing as a musician. Beginners will start by learning technique, theory, and active listening and music industry 'must haves'. More advanced students will go into more detail on these subjects with a heavier work load. Expert students will learn what they have missed in the beginner to intermediate and advanced levels. My musical teaching goes back to high school, when I was the section leader in marching band on clarinet and the saxophone section leader in jazz band. I lead sectionals and helped those in my section learn the music and improve as players. I tried to make the sectional time as effective as possible, as we usually only had about 30 minutes.
