Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have been teaching since 2010. I taught General Music for K - 6th grade students, choir and private lessons for keyboard. Later in 2012 - 2019, I taught grades 3rd - 8th grade and band / choir after school. I taught private lesson to beginner brass students teaching the basic fundamentals. My teaching methods are tailored to YOUR playing level and aspirations. If you just want to start learning songs at first, we'll dive into different bands and styles. My teaching curriculum is customized and starts with Musician's Institute's Core Curriculum and includes the MI Essential Concepts series which contains a no-nonsense approach to fundamental techniques. For me, nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students grow and develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Most schools use the Hal Leonard Essential Elements and I tend to focus on this method as supplemental instruction but other methods are fine as well especially if the student is already working through a particular method book. For young students I encourage a mix of formal music instruction with music the student enjoys. Nothing unlocks a love of learning like discovering how your favorite music works!
