I have been teaching for 12 years. I have primarily taught guitar and piano. My students have ranged from ages 6 to Adult. I am also a performing musician and regularly perform. I usually start all of my piano students from the Alfred series. Those that are more advanced will complete the curriculum quicker.. Alfred seems to offer a more detailed instruction technique. It offers step by step instructions. The student can almost teach himself. For guitar I use the Everyday guitar method. This method introduces each string at a time. My main goal is to create a vocal balance in the voice. Having a vocal balance is based on a singer's ability to sing with a resting larynx, proper vocal fold adduction and ability to navigate through the bridges evenly, without breaks, or strain. Once the balance has been found, we can then apply these skills to any style of music.
