My name is Hank, and I recently graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. My primary instrument is the piano, but I also play all string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar) as well as the trombone. My method is based on the individual singer. I always begin by introducing the fundamentals of singing (posture, breath, etc.) as these are commonly addressed in some way throughout a voice lesson. I begin every lesson with warm up exercises that relate to the music or technique that the student is currently working on. From there, we begin applying those techniques into the music. I have been teaching since I was in high school, and have enjoyed each lesson. I emphasize a strong fundamental base and building upon each students individual interests to help them develop their musical curiosity. I like to model lessons after an ideal practice session, starting with a fundamental warmup and development, moving into scale work, and then addressing the repertoire being studied.
