I have taught trumpet, composition, and music theory lessons privately for almost 10 years. I am a recent graduate from the University of Oregon with a double Masters in Trumpet Performance and Composition. I have performed with many ensembles, including chamber, orchestra, and band, fulfilling a variety of roles such as performer, conductor, and administrator. All of my lessons are built around songs to teach technique and I add materials to teach theory and musicianship if the student wants and needs it. I always interview each student to find out their interests and desires and and build a custom curriculum eight lessons at a time to insure satisfaction and success on the students terms. I teach classical technique that can be applied to any type or genreof music. I usually start with standard singing and breathing techniques. Then I will listen to a student's voice and determine their range and pick out a solo song based on their range, ability level, and the preferences of the student.
