My teaching philosophy has five basic elements that I always follow: differentiation, engagement, feedback, ownership, assessment and questioning. I teach students with different music levels, backboards, and ages. I try my best to start with what my student can do then extend within student's own context, so each of my students is very unique and special for me. And I always hope to cultivate my students, especially young students to become a better person through their music learning journey which is how I learned most from my music teachers. Read More

For beginning or new students I like to begin with the Faber and Faber lesson books, although I am flexible to use whatever methods course works best for each individual student. Once a student has some beginner playing skills and theory basics, I like to encourage them to pick songs that they enjoy playing. I focus on a combination of classical, Disney, pop, and jazz. I encourage students to practice on a regular basis, write in their music (if necessary), ask for help (communication with what is and isn't working is key to success), and to work in a step by step system to learning music. While I haven't had a lot of experience in the teaching field, I am very excited for the opportunity to start. I have taught trial voice lessons before, as well as taken a Pedagogy class about proper technique in order to teach others! I have had a lot of experience in teaching in other ways, though, because I have worked at daycares for about 4 years of my life! I have taught a lot of young children in many fields, including art, music, and basic language skills. Read More

I started playing the violin when I was 7 years old after my mother’s passing. It was my outlet, and has continued to be my creative outlet for expressing myself in a positive light. I worked very hard to get to this point in my career, and it’s not for the faint of heart. I spent many hours practicing my craft. I studied under the most difficult, yet fantastic instructors around the area. Read More

I'm a 2018 graduate of Temple University's Boyer College of Music, where I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies: Saxophone Performance. I play the Saxophone, Clarinet, and Piano, and I'm glad to be teaching students all of these instruments. At Temple, I studied under saxophonists Dick Oatts and Ben Schachter. I lead my own Jazz Quartet, and I've performed with groups including the Philadelphia Funk Authority, Temple Avenue Quintet, Tony Gairo's Crosscurrent Big Band, and the Work In Progress Jazz Orchestra.
