I toured with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale for 5+ years, taught multiple music classes with Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the Reading, PA music foundation. I started teaching percussion in 2011 at Forest High School. I taught their drum line for four years, until I went to the University of Florida in 2015. We received straight superiors at FBA ever year I taught there. I since have taught private lessons at First Baptist Church since 2012 with a 2 year break due to Marching band at UF. I believe each singer is a unique individual, Therefore, the sound they make and the ideas they communicate are as unique as they are. My number one priority is to help a singer find "their special voice" through exercises that accommodate aural, and visual learning styles. These exercises lead to healthy singing and reduce tension, improve breath management, strengthen the voice, and increase range. For beginning students I make sure we know every warm up exercise and stretching exercises for the fingers after explaining the importance of rehearsing properly. We will start getting familiarized with a couple circles until the student fluently knows how to accompany every chord. After we are going to learn scales so they also familiarized with licks and comp. I am originally from upstate New York and earned both my BM and MME at SUNY Fredonia. I have been teaching private and small group lessons for over twenty years. I also have extensive experience teaching ensemble music in public and private schools in Buffalo (NY), Houston, Madrid, Spain and Chicago. I have also worked as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Fredonia, Roosevelt University, and Lake Forest College.
