I use Berklee, Van Eps, custom-written material, and I also teach composition, theory, film scoring. My teaching approach: I possess a thorough knowledge of the instrument. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Guitar Method One. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, including being able to read both staff and tab and have some basic playing technique , I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. For adult students, I like to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I have taught general music in three school districts: 10 years in Tomball Texas; 5 years in Huffman Texas and 3 years in Tempe Arizona. In addition to teaching in the public schools, I have been teaching privately for 20 years. I have owned and operated a studio for 7 years. The studio was sold because of the tremendous overhead.
