My years of teaching go back many years in various forms. I have taught and coached chamber music, choral music, orchestral music, and soloists. Sharing music is always a gift to cherish and continue the cycle of giving. My musical career has diversified over many different disciplines, genres, and styles of making music. There is no better feeling than to work with a student who is enjoying the study of the current material. I also enjoy teaching beginning composition and bringing out the music from within. I started playing the guitar and singing when I was nine years old when I received a Kmart guitar under the Christmas tree. I fell in love with it right away. I received a better guitar as a gift in my teens and wanted to learn all I could about the guitar and how to play it. It depends on what the student wants to learn. I am there for them. I do make recommendations such as teaching out of a Hal Leonard instructions books (for beginners) and or CD's Play along CD's. , Chord Theories, voicing s and improvisational techniques for the intermediate students ( i.e. basic blues) if they choose to. I also like for them to record their progress (such as picking a basic tune they have learned) if possible so they can get an idea of what they sound like as another recommendation. Read More
