I've kept a consistent basis teaching children and performing master classes at local school like North Side High School in Columbus Georgia. My teaching career continues in schools from Powder Springs to Chattanooga. I had the pleasure of growing up with a Music Educator father who pushed me to stay consistent in the persuit of my goals. I have played in bands from Hollywood to Toronto and back both as a singer songwriter and guitarist. I bring the Musicians Institute way to the table and get things up and running quickly, and help students get it under their fingers fast and get it right the first time. For young beginners pianists I emphasize the basic posture and approach and finger position through 5 finger exercises then use Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber and challenging them to memorize as many little tunes as they can. A similar approach works for winds in memorizing favorite melodies and learning scales and arpeggios and long tones and we incorporate music theory with an elementary method and duets/improvisation of material. I am 29 years old and have been playing music since I was 9 and actively playing in bands since age 15. Starting with classic rock and blues, I slowly began to encompass a wide variety of styles into my playing, like funk and reggae. I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2013 and actively played jazz with the music program in addition to having an independent student band.
