I started piano lessons in elementary school before discovering a passion for the guitar. Now, having earned a Music Theory degree from the prestigious Whitman College in Walla Walla, I celebrate my love of music through teaching as well as playing in the Spokane local group Mama Llama. With theory knowledge and years of practice in guitar, piano, voice, and bass, I landed roles in local Walla Walla opera productions and musicals and received the Campbell Music Scholarship before entering post-secondary education. I started teaching when I was in high school and teach younger students. I continued teaching in different music schools and learned a lot in teaching. I attended music courses in Santa Isabel College which I gained a lot of experience in teaching and playing the violin. I performed in different places and events. I've also had the opportunity to perform with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Oscar Yatco at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; 40th Anniversary Gala, September 08,2009, Journey To Baroque II (Santa Isabel College Chamber Orchestra) January 31, 2009, participated in the Cultures in Harmony program at Casa San Miguel led by Juilliard Conservatory of Music Graduate, William Harvey, June 2008, performed in Play It Forward (Cecile Licad) with the Pundaquit Virtuosi and the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band March 14 (Miriam College),15 (Casa San Miguel),16 (Insular Life, Alabang), 2008, performed at the Santa Isabel College Music Department’s Diamond Jubilee (75 years) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on 2005 and performed with the Team Energy Choir at the Malacanang Palace where President Aquino leads the ceremonial lighting of PHL map showing areas benefiting from the HEART & SOUL energy project. I feel all students have the ability to actualize their creativity through the of study of a musical instrument. My students are given small musical challenges each lesson which will enhance their sense of accomplishment. Lessons are assigned to the student's current level. The lesson material will be internalized after repeated repetitions. To understand and perform a simple lessons leads to a profound knowledge of an aspect of music. Electric guitar is my main focus, but I am also very comfortable teaching acoustic guitar, electric bass, and ukulele. I specialize in rock, blues, pop, metal, reggae, r&b, and acid jazz. I have experience creating and teaching curriculums for students (ages 7-12) in an afterschool program called PRIDE. I also have been giving private lessons in guitar, bass, and ukulele for about 12 years now, 4 of those years being in person at local shops and in home lessons, teaching students as young as 5 and as old as 85!
