Immediately following my college graduation, I acquired a job teaching 15-20 students a week at a private school nearby. I toured with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale for 5+ years, taught multiple music classes with Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the Reading, PA music foundation. I started to teach group music class and private lesson when I was in undergraduate. I always try to bring everything I learned from performance, music education, observing other music teacher and my own experience to every music lesson I gave. Practicing consistently is the most important way to make the lesson experience more pleasant and worthwhile. My method of teaching can vary from student to student, but my primary way of teaching is what I like to call, sound before symbol. Learning music is like learning a language. We do not come out of the womb and handed a dictionary. Instead, we listen, imitate, speak, and then learn how to read and write.
