I will always encourage each student, because I believe that everybody has musical ability, and I like to keep competition to a minimum. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses, and it's important to acknowledge the student's strengths as often as possible! The weaknesses are just what we're there to work on. I like to emphasize improvisation, as it's a skill that will follow you everywhere. Above all, though, I want the student to be happy and to love what they're doing. Read More

The key goal for me as a teacher is making sure that my student is enjoying what they're doing. Music is supposed to be fun after all! I achieve this by allowing my student to progress at their own pace while they develop both their knowledge of music and their enjoyment of the craft. I like to really dig into fundamentals by making sure that they are FUNdamentals! A student will learn more if they are enjoying the process, and that is key to making a long lasting impact, and instilling in a student that they will have all the tools they need to become the best musician they can. My teaching style is focused on the specific needs of the student in correspondence to their current skill level. I love to see my students progress and achieve their goals and I take it upon myself to make sure I'm tailoring the lessons specifically to help the student do just that. Read More
