My methods vary on the student and subject. Beginning students will typically focus more on technical pieces of music to improve on certain aspects of a few pieces to perform. More advanced students will still practice technical parts of their music, but less time will be spent on it during a lesson. Advanced level students will spend more time on repertoire and performance. For beginning students, I start with the Suzuki Method, a learning tool that I myself was taught as a beginner. Once the student has gained confidence and ease on the instrument, I delve into standard solo repertoire, beginning with Classical era pieces to work on tone, intonation, and bow control, then moving towards more Romantic Era pieces as well as technically advanced show pieces.
