I’m an enthusiastic piano instructor very much used to dealing with kids. Having my own new son, I’m looking to settle into piano teaching and finish a degree in Music Performance. My passion is to share the beauty of music with each student I undertake and to motivate them to be their best self and project it through their practice and songs. For beginning level students of any age, I will begin lessons by going over basic fundamentals of sheet music reading (notation, connecting the instrument to the literature) and music theory that will aid them in accomplishing homework tasks independently. For experienced students, I will ask the student to demonstrate knowledge and playing to their best ability to obtain a better understanding of where to continue their studies. I will also ask all students what kind of music they are already studying and what else they would like to pick up from there (studying classical contemporary for school band with an interest in starting jazz music, etc.) I will always consider the students age and playing level to appropriately create lesson plans that will ensure growth over time. For the more advanced student I let them work on repertoire of their choosing, stressing a variety of genres and styles. Read More

The greatest inspiration for me is seeing my students get more and more excited each week about their lessons. To help you stay inspired and engaged, I vary my techniques and tailor each session to your needs. If you don’t read music, I play the lessons myself so you can record them with a smartphone and practice at home. Read More
