My spark of inspiration to teach comes from my years performing in college as part of my own band, as well as jazz ensemble and guitar ensemble. My first experience with teaching came from my first live shows with Art Wavey. As a songwriter, another duty often times overlooked is teaching the parts needed to complement the song. By explaining the theory behind the compositions in a clear, concise way, as well through direct representation through playing, I was able to convey complex ideas in a way that not only transferred to those being taught, but made it enjoyable as well. I train all 4 of the singing groups at the church including the youth choir and church band. Music Director/Production Manager Prodigal Son Productions I am the Music Director and Production Manager for this hit Comedy stage play called I NEED A MAN written by the legendary playwright MIKE MATTHEWS. The play is currently having a run in Detroit and I will be producing it here in the ATL 2016. My number one goal is to help my students accomplish their musical dreams, whether that be a classical pianist, a pop singer, the front person for a rock band, write songs or compose music for film, or just sing their favorite song of all time, whatever it takes, I will make sure that we get to the musical destination. It's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I always ask my students for one long term goal and one short term goal so that we can cast vision for where we are headed, map out the challenges along the way, but also celebrate the goals that we accomplish especially in the short term.
