Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I completed two Master of Music degrees: the first from Fu-Jen University in Taiwan and the second from New York University, where I received a full-time graduate assistantship as an adjunct piano instructor. Furthermore, I recently obtained my DMA degree from Louisiana State University by receiving full-time assistantship as an accompanist. Every student requires a unique sale of teaching. For beginning students, I usually start with a full overview of the instrument they have chosen. This includes providing the student with a fingering chart as well as a beginner's book. For intermediate or advanced students, I typically assess their abilities before beginning with any lessons. If a student comes in knowing absolutely nothing about music, I will start with teaching basic music theory. Extensive knowledge of music theory is not essential, but a basic grasp will make the learning process much smoother. From there - for stringed instruments - we'll move onto hand conditioning.
