I prefer that my students play a mix of classical and modern music because I believe it's important to study and play various styles of music. Music theory is incorporated into the lessons and technique exercises are to students to increase finger dexterity and promote finger independence. I have been labeled a passionate, patient, and fun instructor. I focus on goal driven lessons entailing theory, ear training, repertoire, technique, and history. I studied ethnomusicology and Japanese music in graduate school, so my teaching style is inclusive and diverse. I have been performing in orchestra since the age of 15 and have performed in ensembles such as band, world music, Latin music, jazz, electronic music, and more.
