Discipline comes naturally out of a love of learning and I notice when they are practicing and let them know and that induces more and continuous practicing. I use a variety of methods in my teaching to create a unique program for each student, including the Bastien Method, Faber Method, Music Tree Method, Alfred Method, and the Suzuki Method. My lessons are structured with attention paid to the fundamentals of each instrument and the fundamentals of music. I have learned that when a student practices a mistake over and over it remains a mistake. I immediately slow the student down and concentrate on just a measure or even two notes to accomplish correct rhythm, fingerings, articulations and phrasing.
