I love seeing a student succeed, but what I love more than that is seeing that the student understands it is their effort that has resulted in their success. It is hard to put in the practice time sometimes, and it is hard to always feel like you're progressing, so while I may need to sometimes guide a student into better choices (whether fingerings on the piano, or picking patterns on a guitar or banjo), I will always try to find some aspect of their current ability to compliment.  Music is a very physical thing as well as a very abstract thing.  In my lessons, there will be kennistetic learning through movement as well as teaching through sensation. Using tools like Solfege it helps create muscle memory and tuning. Piano students will learn a wealth of theory knowledge, correct posture and fingering patterns. I will also encourage singing in my piano lessons to reaffirm the student's aural skills. The Alexander Technique is also something that my students will explore in our lessons. Read More

I am a highly passionate musician and teacher living in Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated from Shawnee State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance in 2018. Before that, I studied Choral Music Education at Ohio University. I have; extensively, studied classical voice, theatrical voice, piano, music theory, and composition.
