Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I first talk with my students to figure out their goals. Once a reasonable goal has been agreed upon, I enthusiastically help them jump right into playing their instrument. By breaking up portions of the lesson with review of simpler pieces, I encourage my students to play fun and simpler things as well, so that they do not beocme frustrated. I always bring my positive attitude to each lesson, and have the students write down what to work on after each lesson. Read More

I have been teaching piano lessons for five years, while at college and since I have graduated. I like to keep things interesting for the student by devoting portions of the lesson times to different activities, which include technique and theory along with their regular lesson pieces. My style is open minded. I first try to know the students' goals and prepare a course of action accordingly. Then I try to know how much the students already knows and how much talent they have. That allows me to determine how fast I may go with them or how much I must drill and develop a particular skill before going on. Sometimes if I assess the student is jammed or stressed I deem it necessary to digress a bit into music history , philosophy and other fields related to music that work as a refreshing background and point of rebound to the skill part of the lesson while increase the scholarly knowledge of the student. I try to create a relaxed, fun, trustworthy and focused, environment for the student. I like to ask them what’s interesting and appealing to them, then we start the lesson. When I teach at my studio and children come directly from school I give them a snack if they haven’t had any. Children cannot concentrate if they are hungry. We play musical games for the younger ones, so they can internalize either the beats or the values of the notation. Read More
