I'm a freelance musician with over six years of teaching experience. A singer/songwriter from New York, I graduated from Vassar College in 2020 with a degree in music, and moved to New Orleans to pursue a career in music education. In my time at Vassar, I was selected to join the school's Jazz Band as the sole bassist my Freshman year, I played bass in the orchestra where I spent time as the principal bassist, and led a small Jazz combo as well. My methods are unique and effective. First I share with my students the history and culture of the instrument. Then I teach how the instrument works, explaining every detail. I use simple exercises that quickly ingrain a foundation for progression. Next I build confidence by playing along in collaboration, while teaching synchronization and tempo. As the student progresses I introduce more exercises that increase skill level. Once ready, we start playing full songs and compositions. Read More

There are so many different ways to approach music, and so many different avenues one can go down, which is why I prefer to cater to the students learning style and interests. I want to bring in a variety of approaches to the lesson such as theory, sight-reading, and ear training. A big regret I have as a student is not learning early on, the framework and inner workings of the pieces I was playing. Read More

I have had the pleasure of teaching several other students along the way, as I pursue my own music career, recording albums and playing tours. My students have told me that my lessons are always fun while still being challenging, which I think is as it should be. I will have you playing songs in no time, and then I will start pushing you to get to the next level! Read More
