Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Students will learn to read music along with how to play with expression/dynamics, good voicing and articulation, use of pedal and so on. They can also work on solo pieces that would be appropriate for recital performances. I believe giving students a strong foundation in the fundamentals is key for success. Rhythm and the ability to keep time are essential in all styles across the board. Music Theory is something I teach in every lesson regardless of the instrument I am teaching and at all age levels. On Piano I teach the Faber Curriculum as well as the Alfred Books. These books both incorporate music theory so well from the very beginning. Read More

As I mentioned before, my teaching style can best be described as easygoing, but precise and adapted to each students needs. I focus on the person trying to learn as much as on the learning itself. Yet, Im not demanding or harsh in my delivery or expectations. Rather than a standard, vanilla approach, I try learn my students personality, learning style, and sense of humor pretty quickly and work to adapt the facts and knowledge of music to each student as an individual human, not an appointment. Listening is the most important thing. If you don't know how your instrument sounds and how the great masters sounded when playing it, you will never develop a sound. So I highly encourage all my students to constantly listen to music and understand a little bit of the history and legacy behind their instrument. This way, they will understand where they are coming from, and where to go Read More

The pedagogy program at my conservatory also gave me hands-on training and kick-start ed my teaching career in San Francisco. Read More
