I have been teaching private lessons for over 8 years. Some of my students competed in state solo and ensemble competitions and received Gold and Silver awards. Other students have participated in recitals, music camps, and marching bands. Before I started giving lessons, I volunteered with a community group in Indiana called the Phillips Music Guild of Indianapolis. From there, I like to use the fundamentals of their instrument and basic music theory concepts as stepping stones to play songs and ideas they want to learn and put in their own playing. Music has always been at the center of my life and has given me so much. My saxophone teacher in high school was an inspiration to me and propelled me into music in college. In college I learned more and more about classical saxophone, and it became my dream to make that my living. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music from Florida State University, then continued my education locally at Florida International University to earn my Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance.
