I began teaching flute lessons when I was a senior in high school. Though these lessons were not true lessons, they helped me grow into the teacher that I now am today. I began to realize my love for teaching music when I would volunteer to assist my band director with the younger students. Once I got into college, I taught woodwind lessons to local students near my college. I believe that every students learns at their own pace and in their own way. Because of this, my teaching style will vary slightly for each students. I always find ways to motivate my students to practice on their own. I do this by trying to find music that fits their interests, helping them set long-term and short-term goals, and giving students etudes, repertoire, and practice techniques that are challenging, yet not overwhelming.
