I grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2005. I began my college career at the University of Cincinnati as a Mechanical Engineering major. While at UC, I rediscovered my passion for music and felt a calling to share that passion with others in the best way I knew how: teaching. My teaching experience has covered various situations, styles, and instruments. During my undergraduate work I taught general music at an elementary school, and did my student teaching as an instrumental teacher in an elementary school, and as a band teacher in a middle school. In my junior year I spent three weeks teaching in Uganda, where I taught high school aged beginners and intermediate brass and percussionists. During my graduate degree I taught students of various levels and ages privately, and also taught the Trumpet Techniques class, where I taught non trumpet playing music education majors the basics of how to play trumpet as well as how to teach it in their future classrooms. My teaching experience began in my undergraduate days at Morehead State University. While teaching private lessons to students across Kentucky I also was a music theory tutor for my peers at Morehead. I have experience teaching students at all levels, from beginner to advanced levels. My theory and private lesson students always gained much improvement, and some of my advanced students even entered all state bands and competitions.
