I am a music teacher at heart and love teaching students and shedding new light on different parts of the world of music performance. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2010 with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. From there, I taught music at Orlando Science Schools in Orlando, FL for 2 years. My teaching experience dates back to my pre-college/ post high school days where I was a volunteer director of a community ensemble in Jamaica. This opportunity opened doors for me to teach music theory and private saxophone and flute lessons in a community based project that was geared towards using music for social development and change in the inner city youth. I eventually moved on to the college setting where I served as a Graduate Assistant who had the responsibility of providing private and supplemental lessons to students who were enrolled in the University, all while operating a private studio of my own. As I went through high school I began to realize that I had a knack for teaching young players one-on-one as opposed to a large classroom, this is what inspired me to study music performance as opposed to music education.
