For beginning students I teach out of the Rubank Elementary Method books. These books are most comprehensive for beginning students. As the student progresses I begin introducing them to solo repertoire, scales studies, and jazz improvisation. My approach is much different with adult students. I ask them what are their musical goals and from there I can create a curriculum based on adult students needs and wants. In order to do this I do provide a detailed analysis of the progress a student makes every month and areas of interest that students should focus on in the following months. This will include pieces to study and listen to, performers to research, techniques to rehearse, and other key elements. I also make it a point to have an open dialogue with all students regarding mental health. Hi y'all! I'm a saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer in the East Atlanta metro area. I love teaching and have maintained a private studio since 2018. My loves for performance and composition led me to get two Bachelors degrees in Saxophone Performance and Composition from the University of Georgia in 2023.
