I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2012 I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and I am a Certified Music Teacher K-12. In 2014 I received my Masters Degree in Jazz Performance. After graduating college I begin to travel around the world performing music as well as performing here in New York leading a Jazz quartet and playing with many other groups performing many different styles of music. I will be taking students of all ages; young or mature. Unless the student is a very beginner, I essentially go about teaching in the same method with each individual. I WILL TEACH THE STUDENT WHATEVER THEY WANT TO LEARN. Thats right. I've found that learning music is more fun for the student when you get to play what you already know, are comfortable with, or want to learn. Every student responds differently to a method of teaching. Some react better to being challenged while others respond better to encouragement and positive reinforcement. It is my responsibility to find the method for each student and adapt accordingly. Another factor that is not constant among all students is their pace. I make sure that each student has goals that they can achieve at their current level, to avoid extreme frustration and to always keep them moving forward. Read More
