Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I am new to teaching, though I have had success dabbling in teaching in the past. When I was in high school I coached middle school saxophone students and successfully prepared them for their biannual jazz concert. My experience, however, is as an all-around musician. My teaching style is very much based in what each individual student wants to learn. I dont see the point of force feeding something that will just make the person no longer want to participate in the wonders of music. Scales are a large part of every good musician so I will attempt to make them fun and useful! Music theory for non majors is what I took in college and it is a much more open and less regimented form of learning the intricacies behind the theory. Read More

For all beginners, I start off with basics. I like to use the Rubank Beginner (or intermediate) book along with weekly scales. A well rounded musical foundation is vitally important, so I make sure to balance classical training with ear training assignments that get the student to listen critically to music they're passionate about. I believe that students need to own their music education, so over time, I gradually start to incorporate their interests into weekly assignments. Read More

I'm a motivated teacher who really takes interest in my students and their development. Growing up, I always excelled in the arts but never had the opportunity to hone my skills with private lessons. That's why I treat each session with care and take education very seriously. In high school, I took an interest in composing and jazz improvisation.
