For my young beginning piano students, I apply the Piano Adventures Method by Nancy and Randall Faber. For my older beginning piano students (13/14 and up), I apply the Alfred Adult Piano Method to ensure the material meets the student at his/her academic level. As for all woodwind students, I apply the Reubank Methody (Beginning, Intermediate, Advance), alongside Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for students currently in a school band. Playing music has been such a large part of my life, my goal is to try and cultivate that experience in my students. First and foremost, the student needs to enjoy themselves! I am an active saxophone performer that is eager to enter the field of teaching. My desire is to work with students that struggle with finding the right practice methods and teaching methods for them, as well as make learning a new instrument a fun and exciting experience. I also hope to be an inspiration for young women who want to pursue learning the saxophone. After two years of attending Frostburg University under their Classical Performance program, I transferred and graduated from Towson University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz/Commercial Performance then enrolled in Howard’s University’s jazz performance masters program for a year. I grew up in the Washington DC area playing Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax. I attended Walt Whitman High School and was a member of its award winning Jazz Ensemble as a Tenor Saxophonist.
