First of all I feel the student should be comfortable and relaxed with playing music you shouldn't be tense (hence the pocket). Secondly, they should know every aspect of their instrument. And thirdly, they should know how to hold and play their instrument (with fingers or mouth). also through some music theory in. Currently, I teach at at an elementary school in Palm Beach County. (Florida Public Schools) I am teaching ages k-5 general music, chorus, and band. The instruments I teach weekly include trumpets, violins, flutes, keyboards, piano, guitar, and bass. When I student taught high school teachers at the Boston Latin School, (Boston Public Schools) I taught chorus, string ensembles, AP music theory and all ensemble instruments in every family. My teacher owned a non profit in which she used to create performance opportunities for me as well as other gifted students of hers. In Spring 2017, a completed my double major in Music tech and Jazz studies at UMBC. I have performed and various places around the east coast, including blues alley, Silver Spring Jazz fest, Howard theatre, and the Kennedy center.
