Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Fir beginning students, I usually begin using what ever book the student is using in Band class. I also like the Rubank Method of books for fundamentals, duets, and some solo work. After the student has a grasp of scales and tonguing, I will pick suitable repertoire. Also, if a contest is coming up or an audition for a regional band, I will work on this materials. After the first couple of lessons, I will set goals with the student, and their parent (if the student is a child.) Being able to acknowledge that a goal has been met allows the student to have a desire to continue with the instrument they are learning. Passing goals and allows the student eager to learn.
